Personal information can include but is not restricted to your name, e-mail address, telephone number, Medicare card details, postcode and age, and any other information of a personal nature which you provide. While we strive to protect our user's personal information and privacy, we cannot unreservedly guarantee the security of any information you disclose online, and you do so at your own risk.
When you buy goods or services from us we will collect and store certain personal information to allow us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you of your order status.
We will ask for your telephone number which enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order such as a product recall.
For customers ordering pharmacy-only medicines from this website, we may ask for additional information to ensure that our pharmacists can check that the medicine is suitable for its intended use.
For patients who wish to use our PBS Prescription service, we will need to know whether you are entitled to concession rate charges for your PBS prescriptions. Additionally, we will collect information about your existing medical conditions and any prescription medication that you are prescribed by your doctor.
We will collect and store details of all medicines and other products we supply to you, and also all medicines that you or your doctor tell us you may be supplied on a repeat prescription.

Cookies And How We Use Them
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer by websites or sometimes by emails. They provide useful information to companies, which help in all sorts of ways. For you, it means you can use the site more efficiently and save time by not having to re-enter your details each time you visit. For us, cookies help us to analyse how our customers interact with our website, so we can make improvements.
We use two types of cookies on our websites:
- Session cookies that are deleted after each visit
- Third party cookies that are used by our approved business partners.
Some of these cookies are essential and some are optional.
Certain cookies are necessary in order for you to use our websites. These are used 'in-session' each time you visit and then expire when you leave the site. They're not stored on your computer and they don't contain any personal data. However, you can delete them via your browser if you wish to, but this will restrict the functions that you're able to carry out on our sites.
Here's a list of essential cookies and how we use them:
- Session cookies
These enable you to carry out some essential functions on our sites, such as maintaining log in details for the session or a transaction. They also help by minimising the need to transfer information across the internet. They are not stored on your computer and they expire when you terminate your browser session.
- Tracking cookies
These enable us to recognise repeat visitors to the site. By matching an anonymous, randomly generated identifier, we're able to record specific browsing information such as how you arrive at the site, the pages you view, options you select, and the path you take through the site. By monitoring this information we're able to make improvements to our sites.
You can accept or block cookies
You can block any cookies from any website through your browser settings.
SuperPharmacy is proud to position itself to be at the forefront of the intersection of e-commerce, healthcare, and retail technologies.
At any time, we may implement and utilise new technologies aimed at improving both your experience and our operations.
We will never knowingly party with a technology company that does not have sufficient security and data handling practices, nor will we ever commit to sharing your personal data with these companies, unless required by law.
At no point is SuperPharmacy required to notify the customer on the employment of any new technologies or systems, nor on the prospecting of future technologies.
Whilst there is a range of technologies and systems which impact and build upon our site, below are some systems which handle your data. We wanted to share how we utilise these systems with you.
We use a service called Algolia that is in charge of the product search function on our site. This service is able to view what is typed into the search bar and return relevant results instantly. We do not share any profile data alongside what is entered into that search bar. (https://www.algolia.com/policies/privacy)
We use Google Analytics's software to analyse page use, page interactions, and the routes our customers take through our site. These are known as 'web metrics'. We don't record any personal information you provide during an on-site purchase or any other process through this software.
You can opt-out to the creation of a user profile, Hotjar’s storing of data about your usage of our site and Hotjar’s use of tracking cookies on other websites by following this opt-out link.
